It didn’t hold anyone’s (Nit)interest

So Gaya Yeh Jahan was, in fact, a wake-up call to all budding composers. Upon listening to it, even the listeners must have realised the futility of recreating old hits.

My blog on music from Hindi films released between 1987 and 1989 contained a post on the original, which was from Tezaab (1988).

Penned by Javed Akhtar, the Laxmikant-Pyarelal composition was rendered by Nitin Mukesh, Alka Yagnik and Shabbir Kumar.

Mikey McCleary recreated the track, which featured on the soundtrack of Nautanki Saala! This version, a Nitin solo, was three minutes and 46 seconds long.
