D’Mel(l)ody complemented Rahat’s surili awaaz

Songs like Surili Akhiyon Wale made the listeners realise that bringing the melody back to Hindi film music is the need of the hour, because of late, composers have indeed Veered away from it.

The song, which was five minutes and 31 seconds long, was penned by Gulzar.

Sajid-Wajid composed the track, which Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Suzanne D’Mello rendered.

It was the shorter of the two tracks in the film that had two versions. The second version, which was rendered by Khan, D’Mello and Sunidhi Chauhan, was five minutes and 23 seconds long.
