Shalmali couldn’t salvage this track

By no means would it be incorrect to state that the soundtrack of Daawat-E-Ishq was one of the weakest soundtracks in Sajid-Wajid’s discography.

But it would be unfair to blame them alone.

Kausar Munir, who penned the tracks, was equally, if not more, responsible for its inconsistent performance.

While Shayarana, which was four minutes and 16 seconds long, was a shayarana (poetic) track, it was simple, keeping in mind the tastes of the composers' fans, and their (short) attention spans.

However, it is a pity that Shalmali Kholgade – who rendered it – failed to salvage it.
