Deservedly, the listeners RAINed brickbats

I have said it on numerous occasions in the past, and I will do so again – the recreated versions of a majority of old songs make me cringe.

And that of Chamma Chamma was no different.

Both versions of the original, from China Gate (1998), were penned by Sameer, and composed by Anu Malik (who shared singing credits with Sapna Awasthi).

The recreated version of the iconic number – which was from Fraud Saiyaan (2019) – was credited to Tanishk Bagchi.

Shabbir Ahmed penned the track, which was rendered by Neha Kakkar, Ikka Singh, Arun and Romy.
