This version was a chaR(aha)tbuster

Mere Rashke Qamar was a beautiful fusion of a ghazal and a qawwali that dated back to 1988.

It was penned by Fana Buland Shehri, and composed and rendered by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

A recreated version of the song, which was credited to Tanishk Bagchi, and could be translated to, “The one of whom the moon is envious”, was the longer of the two tracks from Baadshaho (2017) on this blog – it was three minutes and 40 seconds long.

Manoj Muntashir penned it.

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan rendered the track, which was a chartbuster.
