There’s no
two ways about the fact that Lag Jaa Gale, from Woh Kaun Thi
(1964), continues to be one of Lata Mangeshkar's best songs.
It was
penned by Raja Mehdi Ali Khan and composed by Madan Mohan.
By no
means would it be fair to blame people for not knowing the man behind the
recreated version. Woh Rana Mazumder tha.
It was the
only song from Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 3 (2018) on this blog (and,
incidentally, the shortest as well – it was four minutes and seven seconds
long).
