The Sing(h)ers certainly deserved Pra(krit)ise

A catchy song isn’t always a good one. By no means would it be incorrect to state that Hawa Hawa – the iconic track by Hasan Jahangir – was a case in point.

Nevertheless, it did enjoy short-lived popularity in India when a song with the same hook (and different lyrics, credited to Kumaar) featured on the soundtrack of Mubarakan (2017).

Composed by Gourov-Roshin, it was the longer of the two tracks from the film on this blog – it was four minutes and 32 seconds long.

The rendition by Mika Singh and Prakriti Kakar was its highlight.
